Long Long weekend!

Could the weather make up it's stinkin mind?  It's nice, it's hot, it's muggy, it's miserable and finally it's cold.  All that in like a 3 day period.  If I have to listen to Ivan say one more time, "this state is so messed up! Rain in the summer!  Rain in the summer!  I'm freezing!"  The man has lived here for 7 years now, it RAINS in the summer.  Must be that The Bay Area is the ONLY place it doesn't rain in the summer:)  Half of us have colds at the moment.  How do you catch a cold in the summer??  Oh, my bad, that's easy when you live here.  It's been 62 degrees all the way up to 98'.  back and forth back and forth!  I'm tired and Whiny, can anyone tell:)  I'm posting this in yellow, maybe something as easy as that will bring us some deserved sunshine!!!!!

No amount of conversation ever would have convinced me that one day my children would be having fun, playing in a chicken coop?????

Mama, How Long Will You Love Me?

Jona, Jaden and I read this book this afternoon!  They just love it....my favorite part is when Momma describes all the measurements of love.

Jona always reminds me to add what I've said to them since they were born.  "I love you around the world and back again!"  And Jona follows that with a smile and a hug and says "that's a whole lotta love momma!"

Ivan and the girls have been working on the outside pen for several days!  It is almost ready to have the chix move in:)  Last night the kids and I brought all 13 of them outside to roam and show them what it's like to have a perch!  Between the cats, the dog, 4 kids including my nephew and all chix, it's a wonder they all lived another day.  The kitten pounces them and we can't decide if she is playing or trying to feast?  The dog stalks and then charges and the kids all scream at the top of there lungs b/c they think their about to witness a death!  It's a wonder not a one of them has been stepped on!  Spencer is never around, hence there are no pictures!  He's at driver's ed for 2 more days!  He's been doing that, plus Acceleration, plus a first job and spending lots of time with friends!  He then has Football 3 nights a week.  He's pretty confident that he will be Varsity Quarterback this fall and can hardly contain the excitement:)

What a busy weekend!

I think, no I'm sure I made about 12 kid runs in only 2 1/2 days!  Saturday cleaning day took about a day and a half!  Not doing any laundry now has me behind about 6 loads.  Summer is offfficially 2 weeks in and I'd like to throw away the Xbox already!  I've officially decided that all (if not most) of the cute "little" fun dresses that I bought for Vegas looked like a nightmare on me the more that I see the pictures.  Here I come treadmill....I'm baaaack!  Please pray for me as the mill and I have not been friends for quite some time:( :( :(  I'd love to roller blade again, if only I could just get these last 2 babies of mine to ride a 2 wheeler!  I'm afraid they will finally get it and then the snow will fall and I'll have to wait again for another year?  The chix officially are stinkin up my basement!!  I guess they have to be 6 weeks to go outside.  If it would ever get warm in this state, they could probably go out at 4 or 5!  The kitten hasn't eaten any of them (good thing!)  After thought.....Isn't the dad supposed to teach them to ride the bike?   I'm posting some more pictures from field day, me and mommie in Vegas, and the girls at sunset:)  Much love to all of you friends and family that watching me learn to blog:)

What a fun 2 days we had as a family!  Yesterday we brought the chix outside for the first time.  They are 3 weeks old exactly.  Their feet/claws/ whatever you call them, hit the grass running.  Several of them freaked us out b/c they would lay on their side and play dead.  I immediately thought one of us had stepped on them.  They wouldn't move and they just looked squished.  We brought the kitten in the pen with them to try and be friends.  We are trying to teach kitty that the chix are friends not food:)  Ky had Driver's Ed to start things off early today.  At noon we went to the park with friends and had picnic lunch.  We then picked Ky up from Acceleration (his summer athletic training.)  We stopped by my sister Janet's house to see her new floor and had the biggest laugh of the week!!!!  She has a kitten named Jedi that non of us have seen since it was teeny tiny.  It lives in her basement and apparently never comes out when "strangers" come over!  Well, for some reason it came out today and Spencer and I freaked the hell out.....for lack of a better word!  The cat/kitten is a freak of nature!!!!  It's part Cat part Panther!!  We laughed and laughed and couldn't stop.  The thing is as big as my 5 year old!!  I took pictures to prove it.  It's like holding a big fluffy pillow on your lap.  We had to come home and upload the pictures just to keep walking by the computer to see it.  Each and every time we laugh and laugh!!  We ended our day by going as a family (which we rarely do these days) to a dear friends graduation party thrown for her son!  Great food, great music and a great way to end our wonderful 2 days!  We'll wake up tomorrow morning at 0630am, take Ky to his new summer job (golf caddie), paint picnic tables for our annual 4th of July party, finish the cages in the barn for the chix to move into in a few weeks and keep doing the laundry that never ends in this house:)  Happy and joyous weekend to you all....

WOW!

My baby boy, my adorable first born that I just brought home from the hospital yesterday.....just drove me down the street with his PINK permit.  I'm truly getting old and time is passing by to quickly.  True, he won't have his license for an entire 11 months still, but wowzy, I can't believe how fast my little man grew up!!!

Frustrated

I can not figure out how to get a slide show on this darn page!  I spent more than 3 or 4 hours today trying to do just that.  In between rides to driver's ed, football training, lunch for 6 kids (cousins over) unpacking and putting away clothes and doing about 4 loads of laundry with Ivan.  I finally figured out the long long way to do it.  I spent an hour uploading one picture at a time....In the end I clicked save and it told me there was nothing to save????  I quit for today!!! 

Still Learning!!!

I'm trying really hard to figure this blog thing out.  I'm not sure yet where to post and update and place pictures....  Feel free to help me, whomever has it down already.  I'm signing off for tonight and I'll try some more tomorrow.  Ivan and I are back from Vegas!  We had a fantastic and exhausting time celebrating his 40th birthday and father's day.  Spent time with new and old friends.  Friends he doesn't get to see living in Michigan.  Great pictures and great memories!!!  The girls chickens are growing quickly for those of you who are following the chicken story...  I'll try and post pictures of the chix tomorrow:)
